As you guys are probably well aware, I'm new to the scene, but I'm trying! So I'll be participating in the Book Blogger Hop hosted by Crazy-For-Books.com and the Follow My Blog Friday hosted by Parajunkee (who I also follow on Goodreads - if you're a girl like me who loves paranormal stuff, this is the blog to follow besides my own of course).
Q. ACK! Your favorite book/movie character (example Hermione Granger played by the Emma chick) just walked into the room! Who is it and what would be your first reaction? You get extra points if you include visual stimulation.
A: I think most people will probably go with something younger, but I must admit, my favorite fictional character is Lieutenant Ellen Ripley, ain't even going to lie.
Me: I WANT TO FIGHT ALIENS WITH YOU.
Ripley: Who the hell are you and what the hell are you doing on my ship?
Me: I have come to kick ass and chew bubble gum and lose my bubble gum.
Ripley: *kicks out airlock*
Me: Noooooooooooooooo!
THE END!
Edited in a new one!
TGIF is hosted by Ginger and GReads (which I recently have discovered and love). Be sure to follow her - there are some good reviews to be had!
Mr & Mrs: Who are your favorite book couples?
I am going to be strange and go away from what the vast majority of bloggers have said. In all honesty, I can't stand half the romances in YA (for some reasons that you might just see one day, or ask me and I'll let you in on why I dislike YA romances half the time). So yes, you'll see some strange books here, forgive me!
Sookie & Sam from the Southern Vampire Mysteries: Most people disagree with me, but they are just adorable together! For ten books I have been rooting for them to get together but Alan Ball on True Blood is just trolling me, I swear.
Ron & Hermione from Harry Potter: Unlike most of my friends, I really do like these two together. Yes, he's not as smart as she is and he whines, but they make a great couple.
Dante & Japhrimel from the Dante Valentine series: Haven't read this series yet? Why not?! Demons, hello! Okay, yes, I love demons in stories (my own novels have to do with demons, love love love) so I love this pair, even if I loved Dante and Jace more. That didn't end up well at all.
Katniss & Nobody from The Hunger Games: Yeah, I liked the idea of Katniss being on her own. Why do girls who are 16 and 17 always need a man in their lives? Ladies, it's time to stand up and be free! Maybe this is because I'm a cynical 24 year old.

Excellent choice! I love the Alien series, and Ripley can seriously kick alien tail! Although I think I'll pass on fighting aliens with her... They are scary acid-for-blood-having creatures! I'll keep my feet firmly on Earth!

What a fun choice! Not sure I'd want to join in the alien fighting though. ;)

BTW- I don't think you're rate. There are a lot of people who don't care for Edward Cullin. I'm just not one of them. =)
Ellen Ripley pretty much kicks a*s! I, personally, would probably be one of the people that ends up being killed in a situation like that, but I'd like to think I'd be a fighter:) New follower here, hope you have a great weekend!

LOL @ Your answer. And I like Ron and Hermoine together too. I like that JK wasn't typical by putting Harry and Hermoine together. That was kinda expected, so when she switched it up...I loved it. Great answers! New follower!

ReplyDeleteI have to say that "Katniss and Nobody" just made my day. Seriously. Best answer/couple EVER. I agree 100% with your sentiment.
These book blogger hop questions just get better and better. This one looks easy but I think it’s a trick question. We all know it’s the same answer – the writing – but we all have different perspectives of what good writing is.
ReplyDeleteHop on over to my blog at http://www.howardsherman.net and read my three-prong answer as I explain why I’ll decide to pick up a book or put it down in under sixty seconds.
Happy July 4th Weekend!

ReplyDeleteI love Sam! I like him better in the show then in the book. I also think Sam and Sookie are adorable together!
I'm ashamed to admit I have no idea who that is... *hides* But it seems like a great choice! I went with Snape from HP, lol. I love how Alan Rickman portrays him.

ReplyDeleteHopping through. New follower! I love your idea of Katniss and Nobody. Although I am Team Peeta, I agree that Katniss doesn't NEED any boy at her side.
